We are all very proud of Lynne Stubbings, NFWI Chair and member of Wishaw WI, not forgetting the fact that she is an Adviser for Warwickshire WIs and sits on our Membership and Promotions Committee. I do hope that all our WIs are going to join in with The Great British Spring Clean.

Managed to fit in a Staff meeting with our lovely office Staff – Sarah and Kathy. We just like to see if we can do anything to make their lives easier!
Finally what a super evening. So good to meet with our new Presidents- full of enthusiasm and keen as mustard. If we could bottle and sell their enthusiasm we could make a fortune!

Friday 17th January
Ready for Presidents Evening Number One.
We are trying something new this year and have invited all of our new to role presidents for a special get together on Tuesday night. I’ve done the Powerpoint about the essential stuff which they need to know about running an effective WI and was dead pleased when I put a picture on social media…….. then I realised I had put the wrong date SO I had to start again and apologise on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram. It’s definitely on Tuesday 21st!!
Wednesday 15th January
Sue Myhill and Sue Ensor tell me that the Training for Treasurers went really well last night at Federation House. Smashing news!
Tuesday 14th January
What a Day!
Sorted out loads of events for all you lovely Warwickshire members for later in the year. We have begun the task of changing all our paperwork to say WFWI CIO with the new Charity number. Just waiting for the new Bank accounts to be finalised so that we can notify all of our WIs. We will actually be running four during the transition period. (glad I’m not Sarah or Kathy in the Office at this point……. Or Sue Myhill, Federation Treasurer!!!)
Everyone on the Board worked really hard today and I am very grateful for their dedication.
Monday 13th January
All paperwork checked and ready for tomorrow.
Got my budget and flyer ready for a Gin Lane Trip and the Grand day Out to Windsor! Smashing. Looking forward to it!
Sunday 12th January
I was supposed to be checking everything ready for Board on Tuesday but it was the big village clean up today and I went to sleep in the chair this afternoon….. now I know I’m getting old! Mind you, it was a real WI effort AND we did start off Keep Britain Tidy, didn’t we?
Saturday 11th January
Every year the Board of Trustees has to go through every piece of policy the Federation holds. Whether its Standing Orders, Coach Trips or Finances we are required to have an up to date policy document on it which is reviewed annually. The Policy review is in February so the Lovely Margaret Pilkington and I have been checking all the documents and making sure we know who is doing what on 4th February.
Thursday 9th January
WELCOME to the Warwickshire Federation!
Sue Myhill and I were honoured to go along to Earlsdon WI tonight as they have transferred to our Federation. We were made incredibly welcome and the members are all looking forward to meeting you all at the various courses and events. So do say hello when you see them!
Wednesday 8th January
Busy, Busy Busy
Sarah and I were busy all day today trying to make sure we have all the paperwork ready for next Tuesday’s Board meeting. I swear the email was red hot!
Tuesday 7th January
Office and Finance Day
Really good to see everyone after the Christmas Break……… Kathy and Sarah were ploughing through mountains of post and emails. Good meeting with Sue, our Treasurer and Veronica and Christine, Vice Chairs and Yvette, Assistant Treasurer. Lots of work to do to finalise the changeover to the CIO, and after discussion we made a number of recommendations which will go forward to the Board meeting next week. Great!
Monday 6th January
We have enough people to go for a second coach to the Tutankhamun Exhibition in London on March 5th. There are still a few seats to fill so do contact me or Sarah / Kathy in the office if you would like to come along. Open to members and friends. Last chance to see this Exhibition before it all returns to Egypt for ever.
Sunday 5th January
Back to normal…….
A long email from Sue Myhill, our lovely Treasurer today has made me start thinking about our first meeting on Tuesday. It’s Office and Finance- we will be thrashing out all kinds of financial stuff ready to go to the Board on the 14th . Really looking forward to seeing everyone after the break!

Wednesday 1st January 2020.
HAPPY NEW YEAR!!
On my Instagram account (you can find me as: askabusywoman) I posted my favourite photo of the dawn from 2019 and wished everyone a good dose of 20:20 vision for the new decade! That’s very true for the whole of Warwickshire Federation. We have some brilliant WIs, loads of marvellous members and a great group of volunteers who run the Federation and the sub- committees. I’m really looking forward to some great events in 2020 and hope to meet you along the way.
