Well, there’s another week gone! It’s been quite a busy week for the Federation as we have been starting to think about the future. We are thinking less about BC (Before Covid) and beginning to dare to think about ADD (After Dreadful Disease!) Fingers crossed that life will slowly begin to return to normal as the spring advances.
As I wrote the introduction to the April edition of Corunna News I must admit that it was a tad difficult to second guess how things will stand by then. Julia Baker has done a sterling job of keeping the magazine going during the pandemic and the Trustees are very grateful to her and her team of proof-readers for all their hard work.
It was heartening to find that over 60% of members had opened the first of our monthly emails to individual members and we are delighted with the positive response this initiative has generated. Thank you all. We will be making the draw for the bunch of flowers at the end of February and will let you know who the lucky winner is next week. Look out for the next email next week too!
On Monday 1st March NFWI are holding a huge on-line meeting to vote on the proposed Constitutional changes, one in every eight WIs from all over the country will be represented which is a mammoth undertaking. If agreed then one of the changes will enable all WIs to hold their Annual Meetings virtually, if necessary. Sometimes members ask me what NFWI does
(usually when they are asking me what the Federation does!!) and I explain that running a huge organisation with almost a quarter of a million members spread right across the country, keeping them all up to date whilst developing and managing campaigns, as well as ensuring that we all comply with the constitution and charitable law is quite a challenge in normal times…. never mind during the pandemic.
Back to Warwickshire now, and we have some great opportunities coming up for you on-line.

In the meantime, dear friends, take care of yourselves and stay safe
With all good wishes
