I do hope that this newsletter finds you well. Here we are at the end of July already!
I have enjoyed talking to many of your Presidents and Officers over the last couple of weeks as we have started a “Chat with the Chair” session on ZOOM. This gives me a chance together with your WI’s Link Trustee to catch up on the doings of your WI. In due course we will have the chance to speak to everyone. It has been really great to hear of some of the things you have been doing and to begin to discuss possible plans for the resumption of WI Meetings. We have all received comprehensive guidance on this from NFWI. We are also expecting some guidance from NFWI on Annual general meetings shortly. This is great because we know that it is a matter of concern for you all.
I am sure many of you will have been saddened to hear the news about Denman – what a difficult decision this must have been for the NFWI Trustees. Those of us who are fortunate enough to have visited Denman will have fond memories of days well spent and excellent lessons learnt.
I am delighted to report that Anita Dudley of Treacle Tarts WI has successfully completed her training to become a WI Adviser. This is great news for the Federation Membership and Promotions Team. Congratulations, Anita!
The Board of Trustees and staff have been working hard to complete the various risk assessments and plans which are necessary to consider the possible re-opening of the Federation Office to visitors. We are working towards a provisional date of September 1st.
Do remember to enter our Virtual Show – there’s some guidance (if you could call it that!) on this week’s Check in with the Chair video. Don’t forget to take a look at our website – you can see all the news and entries for our various competitions in the Galleries. (warwickshirewi.org.uk )
Hoping to see some of you at one of our on-line events in the near future and very much looking forward to seeing you in person later in the year.
With all good wishes
