I do hope that this letter finds you all well. This will be the last Newsletter until the beginning of September as the Office will close for the staff annual holidays at the end of the week. Sarah and Kathy have worked extremely hard throughout the Lockdown period and I am sure you will all join me in wishing them a safe, happy and peaceful break with their families.
The Board of Trustees have approved the plans and Risk Assessments for the potential re-opening of the Federation Office from 1st September, but as with all decisions currently, this is dependent on the Covid 19 advice from the government at the time. If you do plan to go to Federation House for any reason then please do telephone to check before you set out. We have made arrangements for contactless drop off and collection and opening hours have been reduced to minimise the risks to staff and visitors. At the end of this newsletter you will find all the information you need about visiting Federation House.
I am sad to report that regrettably we have cancelled the IPad and Instagram Workshops in September and also the ABBA Night Out, following the ongoing Covid 19 advice. The Board are still planning ahead with events for 2021 – these include:
Presidents Day – Monday 25th January 2021
Serious Science “Neptune – A calculated guess” – Tuesday 26th January 2021
It has been lovely to see so many of you taking part in our events on ZOOM, here are the next ones so that you can put them into your diaries.
Full details of these and other events up to Christmas will be available on the website in the ‘What’s On’ section, so do please keep an eye on this for further updates.
As some of our WIs begin to open once more, albeit with social distancing in place, then I do hope that you will enjoy seeing your friends – even if it is at a distance. Do keep in touch with your Link Trustees and Advisers – we are all more than happy to help.
Hoping to see you in person soon,
With all good wishes
