Thursday 17th March

Its Newsletter and mailing day today. I seem to have been pulling things together all week to make sure that we have all of the right things on the website ( and in the right order!) I know exactly how Eric Morecambe felt when he did that famous skit on the piano with Andrew Preview!

Coffee Morning

Lovely to see so many friends old and new at my WI Coffee morning today.  One of the really important things about being in the WI is that splendid circle of friendship and support which never fails us! AND Ray has bought a new flag…

Tuesday 15th March

Membership and Pomotions Meeting

It was good to meet with the Advisers on Zoom this morning and see how membership is going across the county!

Saturday 12th March

It’s a right old WI Life?

Well, since I have been knitting ( not very well) blankets for prem babies over the Lockdowns I was fascinated to see the pattern for Where’s Winnie, the Corgi for the Platinum Jubilee, in WI Life Magazine…  How hard can it be, I said  but I tell you what… It still looks like a blanket to me!

Thursday 10th March

It was really interesting to meet up on line with Chairs from across the country this morning along with Ann Jones, NFWI Chair and other Trustees.   Great session – informative and fun!

Wednesday 9th March

What a Charmer.

Over three hundred very excited members and friends joined us at Warwick Racecourse today for an absolutely fabulous afternoon with the legendary Anton du Beke. Witty, charming and patient to the very end. He must have had his photo taken with everyone who attended.  What a lovely day!

Tuesday 8th March

What a Board meeting…

Lots of preparation for the introduction of anew ticketing system. Even more for Anton tomorrow and THEN we got onto planning the Annual Federation Meeting on July 5th. YES!!! It’s all systems go. At last!!

Saturday 5th March

Ready for:
Board on Tuesday? YEP
Anton on Wednesday? YEP
Paperwork for WI officers on Thursday? NEARLY.

Friday 4th March

A touch of sadness.

I am so pleased that the Covid restrictions have been lifted. I went to the funeral of Christine Jones, former Colehill WI member and stalwart of the Coleshill Market. Christine was a very great friend to my late Mother and I was honoured to be at her send off.

Thursday 3rd March

To Show or not to Show

It was my own WI meeting tonight- and our biennial Show.  Some fabulous entries for the decorated curtain ring class!!

Wednesday 2nd March

Admin or what!

Met with Sue Myhill, the Federation treasurer at the Office today.  We ploughed through loads of work and ticketing for events.  Our new motto is below!

Monday 28th February

Meetings and more meetings…

Quick Board Meeting on Zoom tonight.Even though I’m not a huge fan of Zoom, I must say it beats driving an hour to the Office and then an hour back  for a half hour meeting!

The Board have some very exciting plans afoot regarding the way we ticket our events, and the reports from the preliminary trials went well.

Then it was onward and upward with another Zoom with the Delegates from across the county for NFWI Annual meeting in Liverpool in June! AND my Camelia is looking fabulous.

Sunday 27th February

Back in the Groove Now…

Lots of paperwork and preparation for the next couple of weeks getting under way. We are gradually getting the admin under control now – it’s more a case of knowing where to look in the files than searching randomly! Meanwhile Ray has started mowing the lawn!
