John Johnson was hearteningly up-beat about the future of his family business, the well known Johnsons Coaches based in Henley in Arden and carrier of many successful WFWI trips over the years.

John would prefer to be zooming round the country but he gave us, via Zoom, a very interesting insight into the problems faced by the family  company during the Covid 19 crisis. It was very sad, he said, to see ranks of vehicles parked up in the yard and to know that, inevitably, some staff would have to be made redundant at least in the short term.

However, optimism and stringent application of Government safety measures has paid off and their first day trip went to Devon recently. The coach interiors are regularly wiped down with anti bacterial products,  deep steam cleaned and disinfected weekly on top of all the usual cleaning routines. Passengers have their temperatures taken prior to embarking, spray their hands and wear masks en route – except when eating – apparently some people ate throughout their trip! Seating is arranged in a socially distanced way to reassure travellers and provide a safe environment for travelling.

John already has bookings to take WFWI members on another Grand Day Out to Windsor in October. See you there?
