Thank you to everyone who entered our May Days Photography Competition, we’ve had some lovely entries which our judge, Vice Chair Julia Baker thoroughly enjoyed looking at to pick the winners.

1st Mary Eaton – Bee and Blossom – Warton WI
Judges comments – Very clear, bright highlights e.g. eyes and shiny patches on bee’s body. Good definition.

2nd Sue Savage – Blossom – Broom WI
Judges comments – Lovely colour contrasts, can almost smell the apple blossom. Varied textures in background. Very evocative of spring

3rd Mandy Coult – Spring Blooms Mancetter WI
Judges comments – Brilliant cheerful colour burst, spring in an urban environment.

Judges comments – Attractive symmetry, captures entire arc of rainbow, can sense the slightly damp atmosphere.
