Sunday 31st May
I have got a bit of a busy week between the WI and my Dad so thought I would try to get ahead today. Sorted and checked last week’s Blog, wrote this weeks Newsletter and started on the script for Check in with the Chair No 11!
Friday 29th May
Met up with the Officers this morning for a quick planning meeting- even though we aren’t technically doing anything at the moment there seems to be much to discuss!
Thursday 28th May
Busy day …
Lovely to talk to Kathy and Sarah first thing with Sue Myhil, our lovely Federation treasurer and we sorted out how the refunds for the AFM are going to work…… boy, oh boy is there a lot of work to be done!
Then I made Check in with the Chair Video number 10! Can’t believe I have been doing this for all those weeks! Ray has the patience of a saint!
In the afternoon the Groups Working party which is headed up by Liz Fox met and we continued in our quest to make as many of our groups a viable size as we can- this has been rumbling on since Presidents day at the end of January!
Finally I attended a Zoom Quiz with Newbold Pacey and Ashorne WI- great fun again before picking up with another WI for a chat!
Wednesday 27th May
Spent some time on Zoom with Sarah today planning all kinds of things for the future and making sure we have the content of this week’s Newsletter for Members correct! The enjoyed attending the Quiz at Mancetter WI without moving out of my house! Great fun!
Tuesday 26th May
Board today and with regret we have decided to pull the August events as we think that it wont really be possible to do them justice even if biggish groups are allowed to meet by then. Sue Ensor is going to work out how we can do some of the Show classes on line and Julia is going to ask the lovely Dr Gillian White if she would mind re-scheduling the Hugely Huggable history of the Teddy Bear talk!
Sunday 24th May
Ready for the Board Meeting?
Well, nearly! Checked all the paperwork and minutes from last time to make sure we don’t miss anything. We only usually meet once a month but at the moment we are doing fortnightly so that we can keep up with everything and be ready to rock and roll the minute we are allowed to!
Saturday 23rd May
Well it should have been my Garden Open Day today….
For the last twenty years we have opened the garden to the public to raise funds for the village church. People come, eat cake, drink tea and buy a few plants (and tell me where the weeds I have missed are!) Seemed really strange not doing it this year.
Friday 22nd May
More 2.6 Challenge updates today – from Norton Lindsey WI and Trustee Glynnis Forknall. I’m going to ask Sarah to put a feature on the website! Some absolutely great stuff going on!
Thursday 21st May
Is Check in with the Chair Day!
The ever patient Ray filmed video number 9 this morning! Then I spent most of the afternoon checking we have all the paperwork for Tuesdays Board Meeting!
Wednesday 20th May
2.6 Challenge update-
Great to hear that WIs are taking the challenge- Long Itchington WI have made a video about their efforts! Brilliant.
Tuesday 19th May
Just a new normal Tuesday!
It was great to see members of the Leisure Activities and Membership and Promotions sub-committees this morning. Both groups were organising events for later in the year. Felt like business as usual!
Mon 18th May
The totally brilliant Gillian Crisp has made a short video about ACWW which is available on our You Tube Channel! If you are having an online meeting then this would be ideal to show your members! Well done, Gillian

Check in with the Chair No 9
Sunday 17th May
Lazy Sunday Afternoon!
After a morning’s digging it was lovely to sit outside with the laptop and read through all the paperwork for our sub- committee meetings on Tuesday. Looking forward to seeing the members of Leisure Activities and Membership and Promotions.
Just need to finish this Blog and put the finishing touches to this week’s Newsletter for members- can’t believe I am writing Number nine!
Friday 15th May
OOOOOO… dead chuffed
NFWI have re-posted Check in with the Chair No 8!
Well done , Sarah!
Thursday 14th May
What a lovely idea
I had a lovely letter from Ann, President of Bidford on Avon WI today- she had written a lovely newsy letter to all members, enclosing a teabag so that we could all have a cuppa tonight at 9.00pm as it is their meeting night. Cheers ladies!
Wednesday 13th May
Ah Ha! Got in front of myself this week!
Ray was muttering and mumbling this morning- “ about time we had some home -made cake “… so I decided to make a Ginger Cake. Then it crossed my mind that I had loads of requests for the recipe when I put a picture on social media at Easter…. So I made it, iced it and then wrote a script for Check in with the Chair Number 8.
Weighed out another lot of ingredients and then made the video ready for tomorrow. Then of course, I had to make a second cake. In the freezer ready for another day!
Tuesday 12th May
Lots of Zooming around going on today. Great to catch up with the Board and see how everyone is doing. Ruth and Christine reported back on their sub- committee meetings from last week and we approved some flyers for events which they are hoping to hold later in the year. Its all a bit odd doing loads of planning when you have no idea whether we will be able to hold things! But fingers crossed.!
Monday 11th May
That was a nice thought.
Had a lovely chat to Naomi from NFWI today. She is ringing round all the Federations to see if they are ok. What a lovely thought.
Great to see so many members of Bridgetown WI on Zoom tonight- really enjoyed meeting with them all.
