We hope you enjoyed the Evening with Margaret Thatcher on 12th March. Wasn’t Lesley Smith a marvellous speaker, taking on the persona of Margaret Thatcher?

Just a reminder that the last of our Serious Science lectures is on 27th April with Professor William Chaplin, Professor of Astrophysics at the University of Birmingham and a leader of the NASA Kepler Mission, giving his talk entitled “Sounding Stars and the search for other worlds in our Galaxy”.   Places available at £5.00 each per household. Just email to book.

On 12th May 2021, we are hoping to hold our first physical event for 2021 (government restrictions permitting).  “Go wild with the WI” will include speakers about composting, the benefits of having an allotment, how to support nature in the garden, and how to make an insect hotel/seed balls.   We look forward to seeing you at Rowington Village Hall.  Tickets will be limited so apply early.

ACWW are hoping, Government guidelines permitting, to do their ‘Women Walk the World Day’ to raise funds for the ACWW on April 29th 2021. If you manage this and can take photos please send them in.

You can find our Campaigns Calendar on the WFWI website, but a reminder that April is Mental Health Month and that World Bee Day is on May 20th – this day aims to raise awareness of the importance of pollinators, the threats they face and their contribution to sustainable development.

June is Pride Month, and in July we have Plastic Free July, to help us all reduce the use of single use plastic.

We are hoping to arrange more Zoom lectures, so keep a close eye on your monthly mailing now delivered directly into your Inbox.
