Outings & Events
Every outing or event featured here are advertised through Flyers which are sent to the WIs in our monthly mailings. You can also download the current ones from this site by clicking on the appropriate events in the listings.
Bookings are made through your WI Secretary, you tell her that you would like a ticket for the event or trip and pay her the correct fee. She will collate all of the orders, complete the necessary forms and order the tickets from Federation House for you. We are sorry but at the moment we are unable to process ticket requests from individual members.
Sometimes events and visits are open to guests. However, our 4000+ Warwickshire WI members will always be our priority.
Pomp & Ceremony
May 28 @ 7:45 am - 4:45 pm£53.00
We will meet our expert Blue Badge guide in Trafalgar Square at 10.30am for morning coffee (included in the ticket cost) before attending The Changing of the Queen’s Life Guards, a little-known spectacle of immaculately groomed horses in scarlet and gold that takes place every day whatever the weather. As the guards disappear into the stables we step into the Household Cavalry Museum and watch as the troopers unsaddle their gear.
Learn how to polish your boots and groom your bearskin and enjoy a fun dressing up session among some rare and beautiful treasures. Following a break on Whitehall to buy lunch we continue by coach for a trip down memory lane to enjoy a series of London Postcards – scenes of tourist London you probably haven’t been back to since childhood. In the afternoon we visit the little known Queen’s Chapel of the Savoy.
This is a survivor from Tudor times and you’ll find out why, when the congregation sing the national anthem, they sing Long Live our Noble Duke. Our coach will depart for home at 4.45pm
