Dear Members,
I hope you are all getting back into the swing of the WI after the summer, although some of you have been really busy!
I have celebrated a 15th birthday with The Leamington Lillies, a Centenary with Wishaw WI, and Garden Party (indoors) with Bulkington WI. Wishaw WI put on a fantastic display of their history at Middleton Hall as part of their celebrations. We have been to Fillongley Show as well as The Whitacres and Shustoke show promoting the WI. Some of our Trustees enjoyed a day at Leamington Pride Festival. All these things and a harvest safely gathered in too!
I hope you and your WIs have lots planned for the Autumn and please don’t forget to invite your neighbours and friends to join your WI events – let them see what they are missing!
We are busy planning lots of very varied events for you to take part in too, including the Jigsaw competition, the Bake Off and Stash Buster at Federation House. We have two Serious Science talks on Zoom this Autumn – so you can join us from the comfort of your own home!
Get a head start with the Christmas presents with the Willow Weaving and a visit to Nottingham Christmas Market. Katie has put all this information and much more on the website and below!
I am going to make a plea for you to consider joining your WI Committee – it’s an extra meeting for your subscription as well as you helping shape the future of your WI. So please think about it!
I look forward to seeing you at some of the upcoming events or at your WI in the near future.
