| Historic talks accompanied by a power point presentation and artifacts association with items of interest that members will be able examine after the talk.
1/. The St. Pauls Watch “Defence and Defiance” How the Watch helped defend and save the iconic St. Pauls Cathedral during WW2. This talk has a twist to it. Artifacts will also be brought along to add to this talk. 2/. The Home Guard “Defence of the country during its Darkest Days” How and why the Home Guard was formed, its weapons, training and above all its value in our hour of need. Artifacts will also be brought along to add to this talk. 3/. Deception and Subterfuge in Wartime Sub title – How a Star Fish ended up in the village of Offchurch during WW2. The art of deception and camouflage during WW2 is discussed leading to how a Starfish ended up in Offchurch. 4/.1816 the year without summer 1815 was the year that a cataclysmic event took place that over a number of years killed millions, changed some peoples view of colour whilst others explored the use of colour but in the end it changed the world we live in, but it meant that 1816 was the year without summer. Could it happen again? Well………… 5/. A number of talks based upon the Leamington History Group Image Archives! There are some 3600 images of Royal Leamington Spa and the surrounding villages
