1.The Mysterious Death of Amy Robsart

Amy Robsart was found dead with a broken neck at the foot of a stone staircase in 1560.  She was 28 years old. Popular opinion at the time held that her husband, Robert Dudley (later owner of Kenilworth Castle and Lord Leycester Hospital, Warwick), was in love with Queen Elizabeth I.  Did Robert arrange Amy’s murder – perhaps with the help of Sir Richard Verney of Compton Verney?  Did someone else? Did she commit suicide? Or did she tragically fall to her death? Authors and historians disagree.  Facts, both known at the time and since discovered  are examined. Then the audience votes – how did Amy Robsart die?
