Walking Land’s End to John O’Groats

• A talk describing my 3 month journey in 2025, walking 1337 miles from Land’s End to John O’Groats; accompanied by my husband, a friend, and my 2 Springer Spaniels, Sushi and Skittle.Journeying through England, Wales and Scotland; the talk will describe the beauty and variety of the British Isles,  the physical and mental ups and downs of the walk, and is accompanied by a power point presentation.

My 5 pilgrimage walks, including the Camino de Santiago 

• A talk describing Kate Allen’s 7 week pilgrimage to Santiago de Compestela in Spain, plus her walks along other pilgrimage routes; including the Camino Podiensis in France, the St Francis Way in Italy, the St James Way in England, the Pilgrims Way in England, and a Pilgrims Tall Ship to Spain. The talk will include the history and geography of the different pilgrimage walking routes, the physical and mental ups and downs, and is accompanied by a power point presentation.

Helping you remain independent and safe at home

• A talk from Kate Allen, an experienced occupational therapist, focusing on what equipment is available, to enable people to live more safely and independently in their own homes. Useful and enlightening knowledge for everyone; whether they have a disability, limited mobility, and / or are a carer, family, or friend. The talk involves demonstration of equipment, accompanied by either a power point presentation or handouts, and discussion.
