Paxton’s Arboretum, London Road Cemetery
Historic Coventry Trust is a heritage development trust that restores and renovates natural and built heritage in Coventry. One of our properties is the Anglican Chapel in London Road Cemetery – the building has been renovated and is available for hire for weddings, funerals and events.
Joseph Paxton, renowned landscape architect (Chatsworth, Crystal Palace, 1851 Great Exhibition) designed London Road Cemetery (opened 1847) as an arboretum and cemetery. Built on an old quarry site the Cemetery delights with winding paths and exotic trees. We will talk about the work of Historic Coventry Trust, the Cemetery and the stories of some of its residents.
The talk will be delivered by two of our volunteers.
We can also host the talk at the Anglican Chapel, along with a guided tour and refreshments.
