Claire Whitehead-Wall

I have been a WI member since 2000, joining to meet new people in the area that I lived in. I was a member of Clifton-Upon-Dunsmore WI for many years serving as a committee member for over ten years – I was Treasurer in 2007/8 and then later became President for three years. As President I wanted WI to be inclusive and fun.

Since 2018 I have been a member of The Revel WI and am currently a committee member with responsibility for Minutes. I love how relaxed and friendly our WI is, we have great fun and have a craft group as well as our regular meetings. I enjoy cookery, especially making desserts, baking and making sugarcraft decorations. I also crochet and l enjoy being part of my WI’s Craft group.

More recently I have become interested in the work of the WFWI Federation Committees. I joined the Creative Activities Committee earlier in 2022 and having joined the Board of Trustees  in July I have now taken over as Chair of this sub-committee.

I am passionate about how WFWI can support its members, how it can add value. I am especially interested in how it supports the wellbeing of those members who have busy professional roles and are juggling life in the post-Covid landscape.
